‘Captain’ Gordon Greer

Nationality: Scottish
Height:6’4″ (192 cm)
Weight:13st 4lbs (84.5 kg)

Gordon Greer joined the club in July 2010 following a successful season as captain leading Swindon Town to the League One Play Off final. He is a centre-half, and is an experienced pro having played at Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock, Doncaster Rovers and briefly at Blackburn Rovers. He also has two Scotland B International Caps.

Hard to see why he hasn’t troubled the selectors for the current Scotland International squad as they are hardly over-burdened with quality centre-backs. GG has been excellent for the Albion ever since he arrived and is pivotal to Gus Poyet’s style.

He is currently recovering from a hamstring injury picked up against Arsenal and will have to fight to get his place back when fit thanks to the arrival of Matthew Upson on loan from Stoke.
