Optimism before season’s sternest test
So Charlie was sent in to the (ahem) lions’ den to give the pre-match press conference for the game against one of his much loved former clubs. This gives Gus more time to focus on developing the strategies and ploys to come away, once again, with all three points from the fine city of Cardiff. A different proposition this year of course. And with Nooney a shoe-in to get some game time, we are sure to have a tough time of it tonight.
Charlie did a pretty good job as always, batting off questions with ease and offering Nooney a thinly veiled threat of what he might have expected if Oatway was still playing. Fortunately there are no such characters in the current team!
But I am still pretty confident. If we can contain Cardiff in the early stages, we may just start to impose our game against a side that won’t be parking any busses. Mind you, they may just be far too good for us. We shall see. If Vicente, Ulloa, Orlandi et al can click tonight, it could be a great game.
We are about two hours from the team sheets being available and for what its worth, my prediction is:-
Kuzszack, Bruno, Greer, Upson, Bridge, Bridcutt, Hammond, Orlandi, Lopez, Vicente, Ulloa
CMS, KLL, Dicker, Calde, Casper, Buckley and JFC on the bench.
A decent result tonight will send a strong message to our play-off contenders. Especially if it is followed up with a solid win on Saturday. Really looking forward to this one.
Would love comments/reports from Albion fans at the game tonight – I will post my own report after the match as well as a quick comment once the teams are announced.
Come on you Seagulls!!!
